NORC March Meeting

Thursday, March 26, 2009

NORC was excited to begin our new networking and refreshment time at 6:30. It went over well, as attendees had an opportunity before the meeting to share some conversation as well as refreshments.

The meeting started with Jim Thienel making some announcements, including the upcoming Michigan Leadership Conference in Mackinac City this coming September. If anyone is interested in a room, NORC has reserved the complete Pontiac Lodge. The rooms will go quickly, so get your order in to Jim Thienel as soon as possible.

Our first speaker was Rep. Dave Robertson who is running for State Senator of the 26th District. Rep. Robertson highlighted his legislative career as a Representative from District 51, and his record of having never voted for a tax increase. This is reason enough why we need Rep. Robertson elected to the State Senate in 2010. Dave is known throughout the state for his conservative values. If only we could get more elected officials with those values and with his commitment to NO MORE TAXES!

Nick De Leeuw ended the meeting with an educational and extremely interesting presentation on how and why to use social networking. Mr. De Leeuw was very entertaining. He also gave us an overview of his widely popular website, rightmichigan.com. If you have not visited the website, please do so. It is a great tool to educate Michigan for the upcoming elections in 2010.

The NORC members and guests left the meeting excited, informed, equipped and ready to press on to the 2010 election, and we had a great time doing it. Thank you to our guests Rep. Dave Robertson and Nick De Leeuw for an informative and entertaining evening.
