Butler Updated NORC on National and State Campaign Excitement

September 25, 2008

The Oakland County Sheriff Department Honor Guard posted the colors for our September 25th meeting.

Jim Runestad opened the meeting by recognizing all the elected officials and those running for office.

Adi Dalvi from Congressman Rogers office informed us that Congressman Mike Rogers would be speaking at the October meeting.

VFW Chaplain and NORC member Doc Maloney introduces our special guest, Christina Plante, who is an Iraqi war veteran.

Recently returned Iraqi war veteran and purple heart recipient, Christina Plante, gave us a first-hand report on the progress in Iraq. Spc. Plante was injured when her hummer was hit by an IED. The crowd in attendance gave her a two-minute standing ovation before and after she spoke.

Keynote speaker, RNC National Committeeman from Michigan, Keith Butler, shed light on many different polling data in the presidential race and gave us insight on future strategy and encouraged the crowd.

Oakland County Republican Party Chairman, Dennis Cowan, ties it all together by reminding us this two-year presidential campaign is almost over, and we can win if we get to the victory center to make the voter ID calls.
