NORC November Meeting
Thursday, November 16, 2006
Dave Dishaw spoke to the NORC at our November meeting. He is the third District Chairman of the Michigan Republican Party and is running for the Michigan Republican Party Chairman.
Dave recapped the 2006 elections and talked about what Republicans need to do to improve our results in the future. He believes it was not the Republican message that was repudiated or rejected but a need to refocus on grass roots efforts.
Dave addressed his innovative ideas for rebuilding the Party from the base up. Ideas that focus on offense rather than defense.
He talked about recruiting activists to serve as paid election inspectors on election day, freeing up volunteers to focus on "get out the vote" efforts and building better voter ID lists.
Dave discussed securing statewide offices in Michigan by focusing on building a list of at least 1.5 million identified Republican voters.
He outlined his Team 56 to focus on recapturing the majority in the State House.
Dave discussed his ideas for restructuring staff to be an asset to local parties with a focus on fieldwork, outreach and support to county and district organizations.
