Jim Thienel
The North Oakland Republican Club Officers would like to show their appreciation to Jim Thienel, host of The Oakland Right, by putting him in the Member Spotlight. Jim is the best example of a grassroots activist in Oakland County, if not in the entire state of Michigan.
Jim is known as the “idea man” in NORC. These are just a few of his accomplishments:
-
Spearheaded the effort to have NORC involved in the Waterford/White Lake Republican Victory Center in 2008
-
Hosts The Oakland Right, a local cable show highlighting the efforts of grassroots activists
-
Along with Dennis Pittman he designed and built the NORC float
-
Organizes NORC's involvement in Memorial Day and Independence Day parades
-
Takes professional pictures at all NORC events and NORC-attended events
-
Professionally videotapes each NORC meeting and special event
-
Provides his jet skis and gives rides on them at the Summer Extravaganza
-
Began the NORC patriotic merchandise sales program
“Jim is very generous and will help out anyone in need.” -NORC President Jim Runestad
“Jim is probably the biggest-hearted and most generous person that I have ever met.” -NORC Board Member Cindy Holsworth
“Jim will do anything to make sure NORC is successful. I think the club should tout his accomplishments, of which there are many, to show what grassroots involvement is all about.” -NORC Treasurer Steve Perry
Thank you, Jim, for all that you do. We appreciate you very much.
